Your assistant can search your notes by query, narrow the search to particular collections, and then read the full markdown of any note it finds along with its timestamps and collection membership. The value is not the search box, which you already have. It is that the assistant can read six related notes at once and tell you what you thought in March that contradicts what you wrote last week.

Mem's listing and search both filter by whether a note contains tasks, so the assistant can pull only those notes and read the open items out of them. Meeting notes are where commitments go to be forgotten, because the task lives in the middle of a paragraph nobody reopens. This reads only, so nothing gets marked done behind you.
What you end up with. A single list of the open tasks sitting inside your notes, each one traced back to the note and date it came from.

Never without. This finds tasks written as tasks. Anything you agreed to in a sentence, which is most of what gets agreed to, will not appear, so do not treat an empty result as a clear plate.

Mem has a dedicated action for exactly this. It takes raw content, meaning a web page, an email, a transcript, or plain text, and processes it into a note, and you can pass instructions for how you want it handled and context for how it relates to what you already have. That last part is the difference between a saved link and something you can find again by describing it.
What you end up with. The content saved as a processed note, filed against the context you gave it rather than as an unread link.

Never without. Read the note it produced at least the first few times. The processing step is an interpretation, and a summary that quietly drops the one caveat you cared about is worse than the link you did not read.

It can create a note from markdown you dictate and attach it to one or more collections at the same time, by ID or by title. Mem treats the first line of the content as the title, so say the title first. Filing at the moment of writing is the only filing that reliably happens.

Never without. Have it name the collection it intends to file into before it writes. Collections are matched by title as well as ID, so two projects with similar names will happily accept each other's notes and nothing will look wrong.

It can create a collection with a title and description, confirm it back, and create the opening notes directly into it. Worth knowing before you plan around it: this connection can file a note into a collection when the note is created, and it has no action for moving a note that already exists, so gathering scattered older notes is still manual.
What you end up with. A named collection with its description set, holding the first notes for the project.

Never without. Search the existing collections before it creates a new one. Nothing stops a second collection being made with almost the same title, and from then on your notes on that project live in two places with no error to tell you.

Mem's own connector description is blunt about this, saying deletion is irreversible and to obtain explicit user confirmation before calling. Both the note delete and the collection delete carry that warning. Run it in two moves. Have it search and list exactly the notes matching your rule, read that list yourself, then approve deletion of that specific set.
What you end up with. The notes you named removed, and a saved list of every title and date that went.

Never without. Never approve a deletion described only as a rule, and never delete a collection on the assumption that it is only a container. Both deletes are permanent through this connection with no recovery step, so read the titles first and confirm what happens to the notes inside a collection before removing it.

What we could not establish
Collections can be listed and sorted by when they were last updated, and no candidate here does that. Last activity does not separate a dead collection from a finished one: a collection holding a signed contract and a set of decisions is supposed to sit untouched, and it is exactly the one that sort would put at the top.
There is no update action for a note. Content can be created and read but not edited through this connection, and an existing note cannot be moved into a different collection.
The delete description for a collection does not say whether the notes inside it are removed with it or left unfiled, so that behavior was not confirmed and should be tested on something disposable first.
Notes can be filtered by whether they contain images or files, but there is no action for reading an attachment's contents, so what is inside an attached file stays out of reach here.
