What changed on this page since I last read it? No prior practice needed

Confluence keeps every version of every page. An assistant can pull the version list, read the current text against an earlier one, and tell you in a sentence what actually moved. That is quicker than reading a diff when the change is scattered through a long page.

What you end up with. A short summary of what changed, and the version number it changed in.

Never without. A summary of a change is not the change. Open the version itself before relying on it for anything contractual.

What am I supposed to be doing that is buried in a Confluence page? No prior practice needed

Confluence tracks the checkbox tasks people leave inside pages, and there is a real action for listing them by assignee rather than searching for the word TODO and hoping. Your assistant can pull everything assigned to you across spaces, with the page each one sits on.

What you end up with. A list of your open Confluence action items, each with its source page.

Never without. This covers items written as Confluence tasks only. A commitment buried in a paragraph will not appear, so do not treat the list as complete.

It can read a few existing pages in the same space to pick up how your team structures things, then create the new page with a first draft already in it. Blog posts work the same way, which is the route for an announcement that belongs on the space feed rather than in the page tree. Either one is live in that space straight away, so treat this as drafting in the open: put it somewhere quiet, read it, then move or link it.

What you end up with. A real Confluence page or blog post in the space you named, with a draft in it you can edit.

Never without. Name the space yourself before it creates anything. A page or blog post created in the wrong space is visible to everyone who can see that space, and nothing tells you it happened.

Answering the question in the comments instead of editing our page Assumes some practice with AI

It reads the page, then writes the reply as a footer comment, or as an inline comment attached to the exact sentence in question, and leaves the page body alone. The page owner still decides whether the answer belongs in the page itself.

What you end up with. A comment on the page carrying the answer and its source, with the page text untouched.

Never without. A comment notifies watchers and carries your name. Read it before it posts, the way you would read an email before sending it.

Closing out the tasks after a meeting instead of clicking through pages Assumes some practice with AI

It can. Tell it what got finished and it finds those tasks and flips them to complete on the pages they live on. Status changes show up for everyone watching the page, and the same action sets them back, so a mistake here is a correction rather than a loss.

What you end up with. Finished items marked complete on their pages, plus a list of the ones it could not match.

Never without. Have it show you which task it matched to which line before it changes anything. Task wording repeats across pages and the wrong one is easy to hit.

Search never finds anything here. Can it fix the labels? Assumes some practice with AI

Partly. It can read every label already in use across a space, find the pages carrying none, and add the ones that match what each page is actually about. Adding a label does not touch page content, so a wrong label is a small and visible mistake rather than a damaging one.

What you end up with. Pages labeled against your existing vocabulary, and a list of what it added where.

Never without. Agree the label vocabulary first and have it list the labels it plans to add before it adds any. The curated action set can add a label and has no action that removes one, so a labeling pass is one-way through the connection and a wrong label has to be taken off by hand.

Our space is full of pages nobody has opened in two years. Can it clean up? Assumes you have done this kind of handover before

It can do the finding part safely: list what is in a space, read each page's version history to see when it was last touched, and hand you the candidates with dates. Removal is a different matter. Atlassian's own description of the delete action says the page is permanently removed with no recovery option.

What you end up with. A dated list of stale pages and blog posts for you to rule on, one by one.

Never without. Delete Page and Delete Blog Post remove content permanently with no recovery option. Approve each page by name, one at a time, and never hand over a list to be deleted in bulk.

What we could not establish
  • The curated action set has no way to remove a label once added, so a labeling pass is easy to add to and awkward to reverse at scale.
  • Page attachments are readable and downloadable, including for people who do not have Confluence access, and no candidate here covers that. What the download link exposes and for how long was not established.
  • Creating a space, including a private one, is exposed and is not covered here, so what a new space inherits by way of permissions was not established.
  • Page restrictions are not exposed as a curated action, so an assistant cannot tell you who can see a page it just created. Check restrictions in Confluence itself.
  • No time saving is claimed for any candidate on this page, because none has been measured.
