Google Meet is a secure video conferencing platform that integrates with Google Workspace, facilitating remote meetings, screen sharing, and chat
What your AI can do hereConnector snapshot 2026-08-23
Connect Google Meet to ChatGPT or Claude with your own Google Meet login or an API key, and your AI can run 15 of its actions. 12 of those only read and change nothing. 1 can delete or send something that cannot be undone, so those need a boundary you set before anyone runs them.
This describes what Google Meet supports, which is one half of the picture. Where you
start depends on the task and on how much you have handed over before, and no page can
tell you that from a count.
Things you could hand over
Checked 2026-08-22
Candidates, not recommendations. These are things Google Meet supports once connected.
Whether any of them is right for you depends on your own work, which this page knows
nothing about.
Can it tell me what was said in a call I missed? No prior practice needed
If transcription was switched on during the meeting, your assistant can find that conference, pull the transcript, and read it back as speaker by speaker segments with timestamps. You can then ask what was decided or what someone committed to, rather than reading forty minutes of text. Transcripts take a few minutes to process after a call ends, so an empty result right afterward usually means wait, not missing.
What you end up with. An answer about a meeting you were not in, with the speaker and the moment it was said.
Start with it bringing you the information and you deciding.
Never without. Treat a quoted line as a transcript's best guess. Names, numbers, and prices are where automatic transcription is least reliable and most consequential.

Pulling the commitments out of my calls from last weekAssumes some practice with AI
It can list the conferences in a date range, fetch each transcript, and gather the points where someone said they would do something. This reads across meetings rather than one at a time, which is where it beats scrolling back through your own notes. It only covers calls where transcription was on, so treat the result as a prompt to check, not a complete list.
What you end up with. A written list of who said they would do what, with the meeting and timestamp behind each one.
Start with it bringing you the information and you deciding.
Never without. Confirm each commitment against the transcript line before you chase anyone on it. A misattributed promise is worse than no list.

Who actually attended, and for how long?No prior practice needed
It can list every participant on a past conference and the join and leave sessions behind them, so a person who dropped and came back shows as two sessions rather than one clean block. This is the answer for billing a call, checking whether a required person was there, or working out why half the room missed a decision.
What you end up with. A list of names with real join and leave times, instead of a memory of who was on the call.
Start with it bringing you the information and you deciding.
Never without. Do not use attendance data to compare people. It answers whether a call happened as planned, and it is not a measure of anybody's work.
Built on: List Participants / List Participant Sessions / Get Participant Details / Get conference record by name
Finding the recording of that callNo prior practice needed
It can list the recordings attached to a past conference and hand you the file, which lands in Drive as an MP4. Recordings exist only if someone started one and your domain policy allows it, and they take several minutes to appear after the meeting ends. Nothing here starts or stops a recording.
What you end up with. The recording file for a specific call, found without opening Drive and guessing at the file name.
Start with it bringing you the information and you deciding.
Never without. Check who a recording is shared with before you pass the link on. The file carries its own Drive permissions, which are not the same as who was in the meeting.
Built on: List Recordings / Get recordings by conference record ID / List Conference Records
Creating a meeting linkNo prior practice needed
It can create a Meet space and hand back the joining link and meeting code. Worth knowing before you rely on it: the space is not attached to any calendar event, so the invitation is a separate step. This is useful when you want a stable link for a standing conversation rather than a one-off invite.
What you end up with. A working Meet link and meeting code you can paste into an invite, a document, or a message.
Start with it doing the work and checking with you.
Never without. Creating a space invites nobody. It is not attached to any calendar event, so the meeting exists and no one has been told about it until you send the link yourself. Save the link and code at the moment it is created, because there is no route back to a space from a half remembered name.

Controlling who is allowed to joinAssumes you have done this kind of handover before
A Meet space carries access settings, and your assistant can read and change them: open to anyone with the link, restricted to your organization, or invited people only. This is worth doing deliberately for a client call or an interview. Changing access on a link you already sent out is what catches people, because someone who could join yesterday now waits in the lobby.
What you end up with. A meeting space whose entry rules match the sensitivity of what is being discussed on it.
Start with it doing the work and checking with you.
Never without. Check whether the link has already been circulated before tightening access, and tell the people it affects.

Ending a call that is still runningAssumes you have done this kind of handover before
It can end an active conference in a space, which disconnects everybody at once. The honest use for this is a meeting nobody left properly, or a room that stayed open after the participants walked away. It only works while a conference is actually live.
What you end up with. The call closed and the space free, without you rejoining a meeting just to hang it up.
Start with it doing the work and checking with you.
Never without. Have it list who is still in the room and confirm the space name with you first. Ending a conference cuts everyone off with no warning and no way to put the call back, and people have to rejoin by hand.
Built on: End active conference / Get Meet details / List Participants
What we could not establish
Transcripts and recordings exist only where they were switched on during the meeting and where the Workspace edition and domain policy allow them. The connector can read them but cannot turn either on, so an assistant that finds nothing is often reporting a settings question rather than an empty meeting.
Transcript entries returned by the interface are documented as not always matching the transcript document saved to Drive, so a quote pulled this way can differ slightly from the file a colleague is reading.
No time saving is claimed for any candidate on this page, because none has been measured.
BUILT-IN AI Ships AI features you can turn on yourself, with no developer and no new purchase.
No event triggers. Every win in this app is invoked: you or an agent asks, an action runs.
