ClickUp
BUILT-IN AI ALWAYS-ON CAPABLEClickUp unifies tasks, docs, goals, and chat in a single platform, allowing teams to plan, organize, and collaborate across projects with customizable workflows
Connect ClickUp to ChatGPT or Claude with your own ClickUp login or an API key, and your AI can run 164 of its actions. 63 of those only read and change nothing. 28 can delete or send something that cannot be undone, so those need a boundary you set before anyone runs them.
Things you could hand over
Your assistant can pull filtered tasks across the whole workspace rather than one list at a time, then read the detail on anything that looks off. Ask the question the way you would say it, such as which tasks are in progress and have not been touched in a week. It reads only, so asking costs nothing and changes nothing.
Built on: Get filtered team tasks / Get tasks / Get task / Get task s time in status
ClickUp Docs are searchable and readable through the connection. It can search across Docs in the workspace, then open the specific page and read the content rather than just returning a link. That turns the folder of Docs nobody maintains into something you can ask a question of.
Built on: Search Docs / Get Doc Content / Get Doc Pages / Get Doc Page Content
Time entries are readable across a date range, per task and across the workspace, along with how long each task sat in each status. That is the analysis people export to a spreadsheet for. Ask for it by client, by person, or by week, and it reads the entries directly instead of you rebuilding a report.
Built on: Get time entries within a date range / Get tracked time / Get task s time in status / Get singular time entry / Get running time entry
It can create the task in the right list, set the custom fields your team requires, tag it, and add a checklist with the steps. The filling-in is the part people skip, which is why lists end up full of one-line tasks nobody can triage. Give it the request in your own words and the list it belongs in.
Built on: Create a task / Set custom field value / Add tag to task / Create checklist / Create checklist item / Get accessible custom fields
It can update a task's status, dates, priority, and description, add a task to another list, and move a task's home list entirely. Moving the home list is the one to be deliberate about, because it changes where the task lives rather than where it also appears. Note that clearing a description takes a single space, not an empty value.
Built on: Get tasks / Update task / Add task to list / Move task to new home list
It can read the comments on a task, including threaded replies, tell you which ones asked you a direct question, and post a reply. The reading half is the useful part on its own. Have it draft the replies and hand them to you before it posts anything, at least until you know how it reads.
Built on: Get task comments / Get threaded comments / Create task comment / Create threaded comment
It can create a missing entry, edit a tracked one, and delete an entry that should not be there. Deletion here is permanent through the connector, and time entries are what invoices are built on, so the safe shape is to have it list the entries for the period first and propose the corrections as a list you approve.
Built on: Get time entries within a date range / Create a time entry / Edit time tracked / Delete a time entry
It can find tasks matching a rule, remove a task from a list it should never have been in, and permanently delete a task or a whole list. This is the sharpest thing available here, and ClickUp's own wording for task deletion is that it is permanent. Run it as two separate steps, find then delete, with you in between.
Built on: Get filtered team tasks / Get lists / Remove task from list / Delete task / Delete list
- Several actions depend on ClickUp plan tier rather than on the connection. Custom fields, goals, and some views are gated by plan and the connector does not state which tier each needs.
- Creating Docs and Doc pages is exposed and no candidate here covers it. Only the reading side of Docs was worked through, so what a written Doc inherits from your workspace's Doc sharing was not established.
- The connector exposes two separate actions for reading the authorized workspace, one of which is not flagged read-only. What the difference is between them was not established.
- No time saving is claimed for any candidate on this page, because none has been measured.
